UGH!

Well, the guys came and painted out living room, hallway and the stairwell yesterday. They did a very nice job on it...only thing is it came out a sort of pink color!!!! YUCKY!!! It sure didn't look so pink on the little color card & it was called "Turning Taupe"! Guess we should have checked what color it was turning FROM! So now, a few hundred $ later we have a color we don't even like. We sure aren't doing well on this color picking thing - lol. I don't know if you can tell that they are sort of pink by the picture or not. Now we are just waiting to see if it will look even MORE pink after we get out red wood floors put in. *cringe* Now we are trying to decide if we want to still do the faux finish on the fireplace area or if that will just make it look more pink to. We were planning on stippling "Creamy Chocolate" over just the fireplace, but now aren't too sure if that is what we want to do. Maybe it would help to bring out the brown tones if we did it. I am SO not good at this sort of thing

Speaking of the wood floors...John called the company yesterday to find out what was going on since they were suppose to be in last week. Well, go to find out, they came in white oak instead of the red oak we picked out. So they have been reordered. They said that they left 2 messages for the finisher in KC yesterday to find out when we might get them in, but the finisher never called them back. Which means we are in a hold pattern as far as when we will get them in...then they have to just sit in our house for 72 hrs before they can be installed. They guys who is going to install them is just finishing up a job and was hoping to get to ours before he started another big job...but looks like that isn't going to work out. This all means we probably won't get them installed now until April or later. Which at least gives us more time to decided on colors for the bathrooms (I am REALLY worried about THOSE colors now!) and get them painted. I am suppose to go to John's work tomorrow morning after Drew & I go to the dentist (John will take Zach to work with him) and we are going to run nextdoor to look at the tile they have for bathrooms (it's the same place we are getting our kitchen tile from). Maybe we will even get the kitchen countertop and sink installed BEFORE the floors go in. Of course first we need to order the countertop...that will take 2 weeks to get in. Then it will be waiting for another friend of John's to be able to come over and help him install it...which should be REALLY easy to do since both the counters are straight runs with no corners to turn.

Ok, well enough rambling from me for now. I have to get Drew his lunch and then fed Zach. He started carrots this past Saturday and it takes a LONG time to get him to eat them. He still doesn't quite get that you have to OPEN your mouth to get the food in there. He still just dives at the spoon with his mouth shut. VERY messy...and stains everywhere.
