Plans Change...

Seems to be the story of my life lately -- changing plans. I had LOTS of practice with changing plans when I was teaching special education...had to be flexible in that line of work because you never knew what curve ball would be thrown your way (ie. teachers changing when kids could come to my class for help, having to go test children to see if they qualified for services, a student who was having an off day and therefor caused EVERYTHING to go out of schedule...etc). I like plans...and even in teaching when I knew it probably wouldn't out the way I planned, you still wrote down what you would like to accomplish for the day/week/etc. I am the kind of person that even likes to plan our days when we are on vacation (drive John NUTS!)...even if said plan is just : Monday - relax, Tuesday - site seeing, etc. (although I DO tend to like to be a little more detailed than that ). ANYWAY .... totally off on a tangent there, sorry ....

Well, the plans for this week were totally blown out of the water. Where did I leave off...

Ah yes, with Tuesday and our anniversary....so anyway, John got his cookie bouquet...and not to be out done - brought me my own bouquet (mine of roses...picture of the 2 above). When he got home, we left and went to eat at one of our favorite restaurants in town....a Japanese steakhouse, Nakato. We were very happy that we were even able to have one of our favorite 2 chefs cook for us. Then when the waitress comes to hand out bills, she informs us that our bill was taken care of by our other favorite chef - what a guy! (He and John have become on-line poker buddies too...and he claims he owed John for something.) So after dinner we ran by Lowe's and looked at screen doors...something we kept forgetting to do. It was too late to get all our other stuff ordered and picked up before they closed, so that had to be put off. Then it was back home to watch our Blockbuster online rental, "Memoirs of a Geisha" (a pretty good movie I thought). And that wrapped up our Tuesday.

So on Wednesday, John woke up with a sore throat and after getting to work ended up shivering all day. Yep...he is sick AGAIN! He seems to always be picking up something! So he came home a little early and called his friend he was suppose to go to the basketball game with to find out if he could find someone to use his ticket. So instead of going to the game, John spent the night crashed on the couch shivering under blankets...sleeping off and on. He also stayed home today, spending a little more than half the day in bed while I tried to keep the boys semi quiet so he could rest. He got up thinking he would go to the office half a day, but after a shower, decided he still wasn't feeling great. Needless to say, the Lowe's run to get everything taken care....didn't happen today. Since he is feeling better this evening, I said I could run up and take care of it, but he did NOT want me doing that. *sigh* So the bathrooms still await their new paint. If I'm not able to paint the master bathroom tomorrow, I will have to take down the blue painters tape that I had up to primer the walls (to cover the stenciling and sponge painting that was currently up there) so it won't be stuck to everything. That will mean having to retape everything *cringe* yuck. I am SO hoping that doesn't have to happen!

The other change of plans is that the guy who will be doing our floors decided since the wood wasn't in at the beginning of the week (and STILL isn't in as of today) that he is going to have to go ahead and start on another house. He said he should be able to do it next weekend though. All this depends on IF the wood gets here by the beginning of next week though!!! I guess we will have to call them AGAIN about it tomorrow. We were told last week they would rush order the correct stuff and have it by this week. So if we want to be able to have it installed next weekend, we need it by no later than next Tuesday! MAN I hope it gets in!!!! So this weekend will bring finishing up the painting of the bathrooms and get the house picked up and cleaned since there will be other people around here soon (hopefully).

Ok, time for me to go read a book to Drew and get him tucked in for the night.
