UGH!! Our hardwood flooring was SUPPOSE to be in today...and yet AGAIN they have excuses why it isn't there yet!!!!!!!!! It was ordered the first week of February and we were told 3-4 weeks. No problem we weren't in a huge hurry since our installer couldn't get to it until the beginning of March anyway. No communication with us, so John calls March 5th to see what is going on (now a month after it was ordered). That was when we were told it came in as White Oak instead of the Red Oak we had ordered. The White Oak was ok, but we REALLY liked the Red Oak. We were given the option to save 10 cents a square foot to take the White Oak or wait ONE WEEK and get the Red. We decided to wait...since a week wasn't a big deal..and we are told they would go ahead and give us the 10 cents a sq ft off the Red for the delay. Cool. AGAIN no communication so John calls them the middle of the next week to find out what it happening - delays again for various reasons....won't be in until the week of the 19th! So John calls back on the 19th to see if it was going to make it in THIS time. Now there are excuses that there is something wrong with the kiln and won't be ready until the Thursday, March 22nd! She explains that she is trying to get a combined shipping with another of their orders to save some more money, but that there aren't any to combine with until Monday/Tuesday (yesterday/today). John tells her that is fine, but we MUST have it by today so we can get it in the house to sit for the 72 hours it needs. So John drives our van to work today so he can run up there this afternoon to get the wood. He calls around lunch to make sure it is there, she says she will call him back. When she does...it is NOT IN!!!! More excuses and won't be in until NEXT THURSDAY or FRIDAY (April 5-6th - 2 MONTHS after it was ordered and too late to be installed that weekend...not that it would be since that is Easter weekend and we don't know if our installer was planning on working that Saturday or not). And as far as the installers schedule...who knows if he will need to start another project while we are waiting and have to push ours back even more. We are NOT blaming him at all mind you! He is being VERY understanding and flexible about this whole thing.
We are both feeling like we want to just walk away from the deal, but we didn't find anything we liked nearly as much as this wood. And at this point, any other things we would pick would have to be ordered as well....giving us more delays...although who even KNOWS if Missouri Hardwood Products will have our wood in NEXT week with their track record! It is such a BEAUTIFUL product at a reasonable price - and we really found nothing else that we both liked.
Lowe's did call us today, and the countertop - that wasn't suppose to be in until this Saturday - is already in. lol So maybe if John can get his friend (that has installed these types of counters more than once and said he would come help John do ours) to come over this weekend, maybe we can get that installed at least this weekend :) Now we just need to figure out how to get the long piece from Lowe's to home. We don't live that far from there, but it will be too long to fit in our van. John thinks he can just leave the back open and let it hang out for the short drive - lol OH MY! I would just hate for something to happen to it after spending so much on it!
Yesterday I accomplished painting one side of 3 of our doors while the boys napped - lol Didn't get very far, but at least it was something! Still need to do both sides of 4 doors and at least one side of 6 doors (although I would REALLY like to get to both sides of those too if I have time) :) Since it looks like our floors won't be ready to be installed before Easter, I might put my parents to work helping paint when they come visit for Easter - lol
Ok - sorry to vent on you all :) I need to go figure out what we are doing about dinner I guess. Huh - just turned on the news and we are under a Tornado Warning until 5:15 pm! It is partly sunny outside here, but I guess on the NW side of our county (we live in the very SE corner) had a "land spout" sited a little earlier. Right now the storm is in the NE corner, and pretty far away from where we are...but sure didn't know that was all going on right now - lol.

Tornado warning?! Scary! Guess it wasn't too bad, since you didn't mention anything in your next entry, that's good! The whole thing sounds frustrating with the house, hope it resolves soon.
