Well, we went in at 2 pm this afternoon to have Drew's staples taken out. He was VERY nervous and didn't want to get on the table for the nurse. Poor guy! So once we got him up there, the nurse took out the 1st one and wouldn't you know, it was stuck in the scab! So when she took it out, of course it started bleeding and it hurt him!! He hadn't gotten even a drop of blood on his shirt when it happened...now there was more than one drop on his shirt and some on my hand/arm. And here I had been telling him on the way there that it just pinches a little when they are taken out. UGH! So then the nurse needed to clean it up a little to make sure it had healed ok. It looked ok, so she took the middle staple out and that one came out perfectly....he didn't even flinch - although he was still screaming "I'm finished! I'm finished!" So she takes out the 3rd - and final - staple...and of course it is sort of stuck too. OUCH again! At least this time it didn't make it bleed. Needless to say he was VERY upset about the whole process - even the Motrin I had given before going wasn't helping much. Hopefully he will remember all this for at least AWHILE and think a little bit before leaning back in his chair again! (I know - what am I thinking - he is a strong-willed boy! lol Wishfull thinking I guess.

Remodeling Update: Well, I did accomplish taping off and getting the primer on the master bathroom walls. The previous owners had stenciled seashells on the wall and then sponge painted below them in beiges. It looked ok still, we were just tired of them. So now I am just waiting for John to go to Lowe's and pick up all the rest of the supplies so I can paint them the blue color I have picked out. I sure hope I like it more on the walls then I like the living room/hall color! I am happy to report that that color is finally growing on me just a little. Still not one I would have picked out on purpose had I know this was what it would turn out like, but liveable. I am hoping that the wood floors will help make it look better. I am SO ready for this all to get going!!!
***Carol -
I had actually thought about the smells thing. So far the only new stuff that is in the house is the paint (the other things are in the garage right now)...which up until the primer last night, didn't seem to be too strong. BUT with as sensitive as John is to somethings, that could have just been enough to give him the migrains. Since the slight humming sound from the fan in our bedroom gives them to him, who knows what else might do the same thing to him. We are hoping it is just all the number crunching he has had to do ALL day Wed & Thursday to try and get the busniess tax stuff done. Although if that is it, that's not good either since he still has to do the other business taxes (he has a side business with a friend) and our own taxes. So he still has a LOT more numbers to crunch
Hope all went well with your step-son's wedding this past weekend! Can't wait to see some pictures from it!! Great time of the year to get married...our 8th anniversary is actually tomorrow.
