Feeling Crafty ~ 10.20.08

While John was out of town at the beginning of this week, Drew and I started a little fall craft. I had received a craft idea email over the weekend and thought these were so cute! So Monday, after dropping Drew off for school, Zach and I headed over to Michael's to pick-up the supplies. The idea was for Drew and I to work on the next morning before he headed off to school. Of course he couldn't stand waiting that long, so we pulled out the supplies after returning from school and putting Zach down for his nap. Drew painted them all white, then I dried that layer with the hairdryer and he painted the yellow on the top.

I did the orange and the faces - so it was a combined effort. :) I am really happy with how our little candy corn votive holders turned out! And they were relatively inexpensive to make (about 70 cents for the 2" clay pot, 90 cents for each of the colors of paint which were on sale this week (so $1.80), and then I bought Yankee Candle votives to put in them and that was a little more ($1.80), but you could go with a cheaper votive.)

Then for Drew to give them to his teachers I put them in small brown handle sacks which he put some candy corn stickers on and then made little tags from craft foam using my Sizzix machine. :)

Happy Fall Y'all!
