Happy Birthday, Drew!

It is so hard for me to believe Drew is 5 today! I know it is so cliche to say...but it seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home. Here is a picture of my 5-year old from his party with his friends this past Saturday.
(It was his idea to spike his hair for the day ;) )I was really happy with how the cake turned out...I only wish it tasted as good as it looked. I still prefer our local grocery store's cakes over this one from a specialty shop. Which is good since this place would have been way too expensive if I hadn't had the 1/2 price gift certificates!

Drew's party with his friends didn't turn out like I had planned, but the boys seemed to enjoy themselves so that is what really matters. I ended getting very few pictures since it all seemed very rushed. When all the boys got here, we sat down to work on crafts...something Drew was very excited about. Problem was 2 of the 3 other boys weren't into the crafts at all :) So we sort of rushed through them...then quickly let Drew blow-out his candles...they scarfed down a piece of cake (completely forgot to get the ice cream out)...tore open Drew's presents and then rushed downstairs to play with the toys. It was a real whirlwind and I think the above list took a little over a half-hour which I was thinking it would take more like an hour! *laugh* Drew said he had a good time, so that's good. Here are a few pictures...not good ones because I ended up just trying to get something rather than nothing.

Ok, I will leave with that and try to return later tonight or tomorrow with how Drew spent his big day :) I am running a little low in the sleep area right now since we just switch Zach over to a toddler bed and are having trouble getting to actually SLEEP in the bed...so I can't promise anything ;)
