So Much To Do...

and yet here I sit blogging :) I have a TON of stuff to do before Drew's birthday party with his friends on Saturday afternoon. Looks like he will have 3 friends here, so a nice little party after all. Since it is suppose to be a sorching 97 (but feel well over 100 with the humidity), I think I need to re-think about them spending time running around outside and blowing bubbles. Might need to do some quick internet searching for some inside games to help fill the time. Or I might just let the extra time be free time for them to just play with some of the MANY toys we have around the house :)

I should be off sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up toys, etc. , etc....but I am feeling so unmotivated. I did do some quick touch-up painting in the guest bathroom while the boys ate lunch. I will plead my lack of cleaning right now as me not wanting to wake-up the boys...yeah that's it ;)

I am SO excited! Drew's new quilt for his bed came in just about a 1/2hr ago!! I threw it on his bed real quick to see if it would fit...now mind you I purchased a king size for the queen size bed since it has a rather thick mattress. I figured that would give me plenty of room to use the extra to cover his pillows and not have to buy shams. WRONG! The thing fits almost perfectly...which means not much extra. So I jumped on to see about ordering the shams...and they are backordered until September now! UGH!! And here I was looking forward to getting his room all put together before Saturday since his curtains and the bedskirt are in too. Ah well...

Hmmmmm.....not much else going on around here. Just have to take the boys for haircuts tomorrow as well as pick up Drew's cake. I need to also find time to get out and buy Zach a new car seat. He has gotten too tall for his current one (his head is above the back which I found out is a NO NO!). Have you heard about the new suggestions they are putting out regarding car seats? They are now saying you should keep your kid facing backward until they reach the weight limit to be faced that way in their seat (so instead of 1 yr....more like 2+yrs!) and they are also suggesting that you keep your child in a 5-point harness until they reach the weight limit of their seat instead of just moving them up at 40 inches/pounds to a booster. WOW! Things are constantly changing!! Either way, Zach is too smaller for a booster yet, so we will have to get a new car seat, so we might as well get one that will last him for awhile. And I can see where the 5-point harness is safer.

Ok, Drew is already up from a very short nap, so I need to get off of here. I will try to come back later and share pictures from his last swimming lesson this morning.

I guess I need to re-read the child seat guidelines... I think my boys are about 60 and 80 pounds now. The older one doesn't even use a booster seat anymore, but we do have the shoulder straps that adjust down lower. Amazing how things have changed. I never wore a seat bbelt at all until my daughter was born... (21 years ago!)

We have to use booster seats until we are 1.20m or 12 years old over here in Europe!! Luckily my 3 are all over the height requirment!!

How did the party go? Hey, how did you get the "Subscribe to this blog" box in the left column here? I'm trying to add a blog here also, and I'm wondering how you do that... it's very handy for keeping up with people.

ah, never mind, I think I figured it out! They didn't make it simple though...
