I spent the Saturday before this last one painting Drew's room. We told him when we switched his room that he could pick out the color for his walls and a new bed spread. I have the quilt on backorder - it is suppose to be in next week.
It is impossible to find a kids comofter in a true queen size (they are all full/queen which is WAY to small for the bed), so I convinced with this one he could switch themes around and could even switch colors in his room later on since it has a variety of colors in it. He has decided he wants a sports theme, so now I need to try and find some sports ball shaped pillows for the bed & a lamp. We are pairing it with a navy blue bed skirt and then navy curtains. HOPEFULLY those will help tone down the color of the walls! *cringe* He picked out a VERY bright blue....I keep telling myself it is only paint :) Maybe I can talk John in to letting me put up some kind of border to help with the toning down too :) (Please ignore the unmade bed.)
The beginning of this week will be spent with the boys and I just hanging out around the house having "free days" as Drew calls them while John is in North Carolina. On Thursday Drew has his final swimming lesson and we will make a run to SAMS (to pick up supplies for the family birthday party for the boys on August 30th up at my parents' house). Friday, the boys have haircuts and then we run to pick up Drew's birthday cake. I'm really anxious to see how it turns out! It will be in the shape of a 5 with Curious George's head and some bugs on it (we are doing a mix theme since we are doing bug jar crafts there wasn't anything at the stores to pick from for that so he picked Curious George for plates/iniviations/napkins/etc). Then Saturday morning is party day! And between now and then I need to do some serious cleaning around the house!! UGH!

Happy Bday to Drew! Today's my hubby's bday.
I love that top photo of the bedspread... that room looks so beautiful and peaceful. Imagine waking up to that view every day, sigh...
good luck with the party!
Having a party at home always seems like a great idea, until you realise you have to tidy up before and then after LOL! I think the room looks great and Quinn picked a very similar blue for her room, I tried to steer her to a more teal colour, but that was what she wanted, now she wishes she had the more teal colour! Why don't they just listen to us in the first place! Anyway, I don't mind it now :-)
