A Quick Update

Since it is already almost 12:30am Thursday morning here, I will make this short. I'm not quite sure where the week has gone!

I had a nice Mother's Day. I wasn't able to go to either of the morning church services though since the boys were still really coughing and we didn't want to share germs. So John went for the morning service and then picked up some steaks from Colton's Steakhouse on the way home. YUM!!! When he got home, we did our quick annual Mother's Day pictures with me and the boys.
I also had John take pictures with me and each of the boys seperately too (ie just Drew & I and then just Zach & I). Man I sure hate pictures of myself!! :) I defiantly prefer to be behind the camera.

On Monday Zach sat up from crawling all by himself for the first time. And here today he is doing it like a little champ...like he has been doing it for months. :) Then on Tuesday he pulled himself up to his knees so he could reach inside the big box we are currently using for toys during this remodeling stuff. That was the first time he has ever even attempted to pull up on anything.

Drew has been doing SO well with the pottying! Well that was until this morning when he did #2 in his pull-up because he was mad at me because I wouldn't get up RIGHT then and get him something to eat. It was funny last night when we ran to SAMS, about halfway through he asked me if they had potties there and I said yes...he said he was just checking - lol I had completely forgotten to put him in a pull-up or the special lined training underwear (http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=484761&cmSource=Search he has 2 blue pair and thinks they are just regular underwear...they really do NOT leak - LOVE them! They saved us from the "no pull-up" rule at church) I usually put on him when we go shopping just to be safe. :) The wetting through the night is still a hit or miss thing...we haven't really worked on that yet though. First step to that will be taking his water cup away from him that he likes to keep by his bed. THAT will be hard!

Well, it looks like I MIGHT actually really be getting a dSLR! Not the Canon XTi like I posted earlier...actually one that I liked more, but is more $$ so didn't think I would get :) John won a good chunk of change in a poker tournament the other night, so a small amount of that is going to get me - a Nikon D80!!
That is I will get it whenever I can get John to quit playing poker long enough to order it!! :) He wants to check a couple of things before ordering it, or I would have already ordered one - lol

I think we are finally at the tail end of this cold! *cheer* Thankfully...especially since I have nursery duty Sunday morning and John will be out of town on a business trip so the boys will HAVE to go with me. Plus Sunday evening is AWANA awards night. I can't wait to see Drew get his little Cubbie award for finishing his book! He worked REALLY hard on learning his Bible verse. The AWANA season started back in August but he didn't start until Nov because of his pottying issues....then he missed many other nights because of either being sick or being in trouble for his behavior and John taking away AWANA (something I wasn't happy about since he never got in trouble at AWANA...plus he was actually learning something there). He really is a very sharp little kid though. There were many nights when he would go in and saying 3 verses (instead of just the required 1 for the night) just trying to catch-up with everyone else.

WELL....so much for keeping this short. lol I am off to bed now since it is 12:45am now. I REALLY need to start making it to bed earlier. ;)

What a cute photo! I love that half-wink of Zach's! We're making progress with the potty training here too, although Jacob had a slight accident yesterday. And I haven't even tried to take away his night time pull-ups. Now that he's going on the potty, he has this sudden fascination with public restrooms. (YUK!) Everywhere we go he says he has to go potty, even if he went right before we left home. And he says it really loud, like right in the middle of church, so that it looks bad if I don't get up and take him. Congrats on the camera! You better order it before he loses what he made in poker...!
