And more waiting...

John informed me this evening that our installer will NOT be starting this weekend. Do to him having to work VERY long shifts at his day job (he works for the local city utilities in the water department and evidently they have some BIG water main problem they are trying to fix), he won't get to it this week/weekend...and they are going out of town again next weekend....which means we are now pushed back to Memorial weekend. *sigh*

We didn't end up going to visit my family this weekend after all. Zach was VERY fussy and wouldn't sleep all Thursday. He then woke up Friday morning really wheezing & coughing so I steamed up the bathroom and sat in there with him from 5-5:30am and then took him in to the early clinic time at his doctor's office. By the time the doctor saw him though, the wheezing and coughing was almost gone. I was concerned about whooping cough, but the doctor said she really felt it was some new influenza that was at its peek time. This virus causes what has been called in the past croup for the young and laryngitis for adults and should last about a week. Just to be sure it wasn't whooping cough though, she sent us next door to the hospital to have the test run. She sent us to the outpatient area...well that ended up being the wrong place and we had to walk across the hospital and then take a trip up to the 6th floor to the pediatric unit. Wow, that brought back some memories from the time about 2.5 yrs ago when we spent time there for Drew's knee surgery (to wash-out the bacteria that was growing inside on his knee). Thankfully this was just a quick visit to have Zach's nose swabbed. The doctor said the earliest we would find out the quick results would be Monday (today) ot Tuesday and the long test would be 2 weeks. So anyway, of course we couldn't go see my new little nephew who is just 2 months old and expose him to all this junk. Instead, it was spent trying to get Zach's fever broke and trying to make him as comfortable as possible. We even put a little water in our jacuzzi tub and let him crawl around and splash in it for awhile. He was pretty excited about that :)

So since John couldn't go meet his buddy up in St. Louis to go play poker, he and a guy from his office drove up to Kansas City Friday afternoon for an evening of poker up there. *rolls eyes* I told him since I was left home with a sick kid and another that wasn't real happy about not getting to see his Grandpa & Grandma (actually Drew handled that very well...he said he didn't want his cousin to get sick like Zach), that I get my new camera. lol So of course he says he will have to check into and research if it should be the Canon XTi or the Nikon D80. Which if you know my hubby, means I will be lucky to see one before Christmas - lol - the guy LOVES researching technology & spending a LONG time doing that :)

Only other news around here is that I got my hair chopped last Thursday night back to layered chin length. :)

Ok, past my bed time!

That picture is too cute! It makes me want to go take a bath! I can't believe how long you've waited for your floors. I hope you get your camera soon! I love my Canon but my friend has the Nikon and loves it too!
