AWANA Awards Night

Tonight was our AWANA Clubs awards night at church. Since Drew completed all the Bible memorization in his book, he got his little Cubbie Bear pin for his uniform.

I think he was more excited about getting to go up in front of church and stand on the big stage more than he was about getting the award. Although, he was grinning ear-to-ear up there after they gave him his little pin. I was very proud how well he stood up there (I think he was a bit overwhelmed - kept looking around at all the people sitting in the auditorium). As the group began to exit I was sighing with relief inside that he hadn't done anything too crazy...then I see the Awana secretary jump up and go to the front of the stage. When I look back to Drew, there he is, sitting on the front of the stage with his legs dangling off getting ready to just jump down (and I have to say it is a pretty good drop...about 3-4 feet)! What a boy! Thankfully they had gotten to him in time and the drama was diverted. Gave the audience quite a chuckle.

I tried to take a little video with my Sony Cybershot W50 of them singing their Cubbie theme song. WARNING: It didn't turn out well because the camera was having trouble focusing and I kept trying to move to get around one of the ladies that was leading them in the song. Go HERE

Zach has decided it is kind of fun to pull himself up to stand. This is how I found him on Friday afternoon when I went in to get him after his nap...
Needless to say we have lowered his mattress - had to go down to the very lowest setting because of his height. He is finally making some progress towards walking, but nothing like our friends' little girl Addison. She is exactly 3 weeks older than Zach and started walking this week!
