I'm still here :)

It's been a few days since I posted. oops!

The weekend brought working on painting doors (still haven't finished them all though - shame on me...3 more - half of those sides need only one more coat...the other half still need both coats of paint). We got our countertop for the kitchen picked up on Sunday afternoon and are happy with the color. Can't wait to see it installed!

...so those 2 pieces now reside in our garge along with everything else...EXCEPT the wood for the floors. We STILL haven't gotten that in!! When John didn't hear from the owner yesterday, he emailed him first thing this morning. He received an email back stating that is still wasn't in, but was expected tomorrow (Wednesday)..but the owner said he was from Missouri - they had to "show me". So we aren't holding our breath on it being in tomorrow either. At least we weren't scheduled with the guy to come install it this weekend. We have decided to not do anything as far as scheduling him until we actually have the wood home. We are holding out a slim hope that it might get here in time to install next weekend. The plan is to install the countertop, sink & faucet in the kitchen this weekend, but John hasn't heard back from his friend that is suppose to help him do that. What is it with people returning calls to us! My parents are going to be in town though, and dad has installed all those things before. So we might draft him to help :) Only thing is we don't want to take up all his time while he is here because Drew would NOT be happy with us!

We did have a roofing company come by this afternoon to give us an bid on putting new shingles on our roof. We HAVE to get that done or the insurance won't cover it. We have just gotten a 90 day extention on the original time frame. We are going to have another company come give us a quote on Thursday and by the beginning of next week we want to make a decision on who to use and get on their schedule (so far the 2 we have talked to said a 2-3 week wait to have the work done).

Then it will be time to move on the find a landscaper. We also need to find someone to cut our grass!!! John talked to our neighbor about his nephew cutting it again this year at least to start the season out. He said that he would be by this past weekend. Yet another person that never showed up! We have a jungle growing in our yard and it will be quite a job to cut now. I think we are the last people on our street to cut our yard...and I HATE that!!! We are the slackers - the ones with a field of dandelions. Can you tell I am not happy about this :) I was going ot cut it Sunday afternoon, but John informed me we had no gas and the lawn mower probably wouldn't start since it hasn't been used for a LONG time. *grumble*

The Boys:
Zach still isn't quite crawling but spend a lot of time on his hands and knees whenever you set him down on his tummy. He has now tried all the veggies available in baby food form, so we will soon be moving on to fruits. And he is actually starting to get the fact that he has to open his mouth so we can get the food in! lol What a kid! His little black eye is pretty well gone now. Poor guy.
Drew --- ah Drew -- what can I say about that child. We had to take him out of Sunday School class this past Sunday. John went by right at the end of it to try and get him to use the potty and there was our son throwing an all-out fit about having to come in from the playground. Why can't my child be ones of those that acts much better in public?!?! He just acts the same way no matter where he is. So John went ahead and took him to the bathroom to try and get him to use it....they spent almost 15 minutes in there with Drew throwing an a huge fit. All of this is happening while I am working in the church nursery. Next thing I know, John is dropping Drew off in the nursery saying he will see if he can get someone to run the video board (for taping the services). So John went and found someone to fill in for him and then came back for Drew. He was going to take him to one of the cry rooms, but the kid was being SO loud and obnoxious, he ended up just taking him out to the van until service was over and I was finished in the nursery. *sigh* He even ended up having to miss AWANA that night since he was STILL being a terror child all afternoon! Now getting to participate in the Easter Egg hunt this next Sunday is even up in the air (as far as if he will get to join in the fun). I SURE hope 4 is better than 3 like everyone keeps telling us it is! In the pottying area, today marked one week of no accidents and guess what...he had a peepee one today *sigh* At least it was the only one for a week (not counting at night of course)!

Well, I need to go do a few things for my class reunion planning. I have received a few emails while I was typing this even. It seems to be going really well and I am having SO much fun trying to track people down :) It is great hearing what everyone has been up to since high school. I can't wait to see everyone again next year.

I can relate to the yard situation -- ours has not been mowed yet this year and it is looking ragged. Also the tulips are coming up through the grass where we re-sodded over a garden last year. We set up the garden areas with borders but never got around to the landscape fabric and bark part. So now we have HUGE weeds coming up! Most embarassing. My husband and his dad are busy re-staining the deck right now. I can also relate on the potty and tantrum front. Sigh! What more can I say. Boys!
