Update on the Boys

When I picked Drew up from school yesterday afternoon (a good report from the teacher from the day *CHEER*), his eye lid was looking a little worse....purple/blue color, puffy and the cut was still bleeding a little. So I decided to go ahead and take him in to the doctor JUST to be sure nothing more serious was wrong. An hour after our appointment time, we finally got to see the doctor to be told that all was ok. She checked to make sure that he still had good control of his eye...and all looked fine....oh and a talk about being more carefull for Drew and I :) I did get a prescription for an eye ointment to have one hand IF it looks like it is getting infected or just not healing well, but the doctor thinks it will heal fine and since it is in the crease of the lid, the scar shouldn't even show. She also warned not to get worried if he woke up this morning with a big shiner all around that side of the eye since the soft tissue allows the blood to move around. He does have a little bit, but it is mostly just by the eye lid... Every time I had to try and explain the situation, I always had to do it twice for people yesterday. And I received quite a few chuckles. *sigh* What a boy!! He still can't remember exactly how it happened.

(Look at those bags under his eyes! Thanks to lack of sleep thanks to the mouth sore. :( )
While we were in with the doctor, I mentioned Zach's mouth sores and she immediately said "Ah! Hand, Foot & Mouth disease". I said I thought he had to have a rash else were (usually on hands or feet....thus giving the name), but she said not always. I told her about his high fever on Sunday afternoon and evening and she said yes, that was all part of it. That it is contagious before & during the fever...by the time you get the sores/rash he aren't any more. I feel so bad about having him in the church nursery last Sunday morning....but he wasn't showing ANY signs of being sick that morning!! UGH!

Caterpillar Update:
The final caterpillar finally decided to join the rest in a cocoon, so John was able to move the disc with the chrysalides over to the butterfly hut on Wednesday night. Now we just wait for our first butterfly to emerge. I just wish the netting of the hut wasn't so tightly woven, doesn't make for very good photos. I did take a couple, but they are still on my camera....well except the couple of videos I took with my little Cybershot. After the disc was moved over, the cocoon that was first to form was just dancing around like crazy!! For awhile, Drew and I wondered if maybe we were going to see the first butterfly that night. I guess it just didn't like being moved around that much, since after about 10 minutes it settled down and we haven't seen it move since. I wouldn't be surprised if the first butterfly made it's appearance this next week.

I did end up going to the scrapbooking night at church last night for awhile, which I'm glad I did. I didn't accomplish much, but it was nice relaxing and chatting for awhile. I think I will log off here, and go see what is up with Ike (praying for those of you down in TX & LA! Hope you are all ok, Debra!!), get some of our old photo CDs loaded onto the new desktop and read a little bit. Hope you all have a good Saturday!
