Not to keep you hanging any more, Drew's first day went really well. *CHEER* *HAPPY DANCE* *SIGH OF RELIEF* His teacher even walked him out to the car to let me know personally that there were no problems.
Now to start from the beginning of Drew's big day. Drew woke pretty early and was ready to get going. It was torture for him (and for me - lol) to have to wait until after lunch for school. I lost track of how many times he asked how much longer it was until we could leave. :)

We finally ended up leaving the house earlier than we needed to and sat out in the van for awhile. I took the chance with the simi-empty parking lot to get a quick picture of him in front of the school. It was just barely raining (which is why he was squinting) so I took it quick...not the best picture, but better than nothing :)
He ended up being the first one in his class to arrive, which was nice since I had a couple other questions about the pick-up and drop-off process. While talking to his teacher I found out she actually lives in our neighborhood, one street over...too funny! Since it is never a problem with leaving Drew - he has NEVER experienced any separation anxiety, even when he was a baby - after find out what I needed, I told Drew bye and Zach and I headed out to do some errands.I just kept waiting for a dreaded phone call the whole time (12:30-3pm). I was hoping that playing with Zach would take my mind off it, but he ended up wanting to take a nap the whole time Drew was at school - lol. So I then tried to distract myself with the new bible study we start this Wednesday night at church (Beth Moore's "Stepping Up"), but couldn't get my mind off it. So I ended up spending most of the time praying that all would go well :) A good thing to do instead of just sitting and worrying.
As I said before, all went well though. No needs to worry this day. :) We shall see how it goes when he starts on Monday and goes every afternoon. I am hoping the routine will be good for him and help keep things under control.
When his teacher brought him out, she said he had earned his candy for the day. *laugh* Yes, I did a little bribing too. ;) Drew had gotten two rolls of Smarties candy at Joy Bells Wednesday night for being good *cheer*, but by the time we got home, it was too late to eat them, so I told him he could have a whole roll after his first day of school if he did good. I even took and put them in the car that morning so he could have them on the way home after school. Evidently he had told his teacher about this little bribe. Overall Drew isn't a big candy eater usually, but if this works I will go buy a whole bag of Smarties and he can have some every day!! *laugh* (I know, bad Mom!)
And to make his day even better for him, when the mail arrived, his newest Brickmaster Lego set was there!
For his birthday, we bought him a year subscription to the Lego Brickmaster Club so every other month he receives a new lego set and their magazine. He LOVES it and was really excited when he saw this month was a Bionicles set (he has been asking for some, but I keep telling him he is a little too young yet for those). The Bionicle was a little tough, but with some help, he got it put together pretty quickly.I had one last surprise for him in celebration of his great first day of school (we are NOT planning to do this much EVERY time he has a good day and he has been told that, but that he doesn't know when there might be a surprise for a good day). For dinner we took him to eat at his favorite restaurant, Nakato's Japanese Restaurant. The funny thing was, when we pulled up in their parking lot, he started to get upset because he had thought we were going to Chuck E Cheese (since that was where we went the last time it was a surprise eating out)! *laugh*
So thanks again for all the thought and prayers for Drew! PLEASE continue to do so, we have a whole school year to make it through. :)

I forgot to tell you about the newest members of our family! No, no new babies or dogs...or even fish. We now have caterpillars! Yes, I said caterpillars :) When we arrived home Monday from St. Louis, in our mailbox were the Painted Lady caterpillars for Drew's butterfly house. I was sure they were dead since they had been out in the heat since Saturday afternoon, but they ended up making it. And they have even begun the next phase of their metamorphosis...they are starting to form into chrysalides. This morning we found 3 of the 5 hanging from the lid of their container.
Sorry for the busy background in the picture, but you aren't suppose to move the container during this time. I just thought that I should have stuck a piece of white paper behind it, but I will just have to do that with the next updated picture :) Drew is very excited to see his butterflies make their appearance in about a week. ****************
And the final news, the mammoth 30 inch monitor has arrived. Here it is next to one of our 20 inch monitors....makes the 20 inch look small! *laugh*

HOW BIG IS THAT MONITOR?!!! I'm SO jealous!
Congrats to Drew on doing so well. Do you think his behavior has improved since his surgery?
It is a 30 inch monitor and it is HUGE!!! It will be so nice for video editing and photo editing too.
We are still trying to get Drew into some sort of schedule again after his surgery so it is hard to say if it has help his behavior. Over all I think his behavior has improved since last year though. We don't seem to have as long or as frequent fits. Partly due to mature I am sure.
