Is This Day Over Yet?

*sigh* It is not even 1pm here yet and I am SO looking forward to this day being over :)

I got a call from Drew's school at about 10:15am (only a little more than an hour into his day) that I needed to come pick him up. Yep, he succeeded in getting himself kicked out of school. They called to say they had him in the office and that he was still refusing to sit, so I needed to come get him. From what I can gather from the voicemail that was left on my cell phone, he was refusing to do anything in class today and just being generally disruptive. So they took him to the office for some time-out where he refused to sit down for his time-out. When I got to the school he had finally decided to sit down, but as soon as he saw me he began screaming again, "I don't want to leave school". So I got to not only carry Zach (who is now more than 30 pounds) in one arm, but also a screaming/kicking/hitting Drew (who is 40 pounds) in the other arm through the hall and back out to the van. Man, I should have HUGE muscles by the time these 2 get older (if I survive until then :) ).

And this day is after him getting removed from his class during the AM service yesterday. The guy who brought him to us yesterday is one we really like & who takes time to try and work with the kids. He said that Drew had wanted to go outside, but it wasn't time for that yet. So Drew proceeded to throw a major fit. This guy had taken him out of the class and sat with him to try and get him to calm down. Then, when he seemed to be calming down, he tried to talk with Drew and this threw him into another fit. So I got to spend the AM service holding a screaming 4 year-old in our van. :) He also lost the privilege to eat out at his favorite restaurant and even though Mommy, Daddy & Zach got Taco Bell take-home for lunch, Drew had to have a PB &J sandwhich. I felt terrible eating it in front of him, but I think it got some point across to him (at least for that day) because after evening service he was pretty excited that he did good and got to not only have take-out, but he also got to pick where we got it from.

So today....because of these incidents, he had to spend the rest of his morning in his room. A room, I might point out, that had all toys and books removed from it. He must go to bed right after dinner all week instead of getting some play time. He has also lost getting to go to his friends birthday party on Saturday afternoon. We had told him he needed to show us that he could listen and obey by getting good reports this week at school....well THAT didn't happen! I am also keeping him home from school on Wednesday. Not at home having fun playing mind you. No, he will sit and work on some sort of work that I give him - probably some writing of the letter "D" since that is what he would be doing at school. Problem is, he actually usually ENJOYS during school work. So I need to think this one through a little more. He isn't to the point where he can copy sentence yet, or I would have him do something like that - "I will obey my teachers." x times or apology notes to each of them. I know, I'm being pretty hard on him with all this happening to him at once, but we have tried other things and nothing is working, so we will get a little more harsh here for awhile and see if THAT gets through to him.

**************************
Wow, sorry to dump all that on you guys :) On a MUCH happier note...

Zach is sleeping through the night without getting up for a bottle!!! WOO-HOO!! He still sometimes wakes up once or twice and I go in to give him a little sip of water and help him find his pacifier, but he usually doesn't have a huge screaming fit about it any more :) Now to just train my system to stop waking up throughout the night. *laugh*

Zach has also pretty much mastered climbing up the stairs - and at a fairly quick pace :) NOW we just need to really work on his climbing down them. (*laugh* The shirt Zach is wearing is a size 2-4! and one Drew was wearing at the beginning of last year.)

Well, I have a few things that I need to finish while the boys are napping. So I am done complaining for today :) Hope you all have a good week!
