Can we make it 3 in a row?

Well, Drew had a GREAT day Friday and a good day Monday. Now I am praying he can make it 3 school days in a row. This would be a new record for him :) He actually had a good day Saturday and Sunday too. Today was so-so. So if we look at it that way...he has actually had 5 good days in a row!! I just keep waiting for the other shoe to fall though *laugh*.

When we drove up to school on Friday, I told Drew I had to get out and walk him in to make sure he told who he needed to he was sorry. He began begging me to just let him go in by himself...promising to go to each of the 3 people immediately when he walked in school. Since he seemed very sincere and Zach was being pretty fussy, I let him do it...dreading the whole morning that I didn't just go in and make sure he did what he was suppose to. So when I drove up to the school and his teacher was standing with him as I pulled up I began to groan. I must have had a look of dread on my face because his teacher began having Drew give me the thumbs up. *laugh* She had just walked him out to let me know what a WONDERFUL day he had had. There was also a note in his backpack to let me know he had come right in and apologized for kicking her. *deep sigh of relief* A nice way to start our weekend :)
Saturday morning was Drew's final soccer game. It was a crisp fall morning, but I would prefer that MUCH more over a hot day! And how about it...Drew had a great day! He played and even got to be goalie toward the end of the game. When he was sitting on the side, he actually did some cheering for his teammates instead of playing with the younger kids sitting the bleachers. There were a couple a small whining episodes, but he got over those fairly quickly...except for the one at the end when he refused to smile for one last team picture with them all holding the trophies (all the teams got trophies saying they were the champions *laugh*). Since it was their final game, everyone got a chance to play goalie. I was dreading this because Drew doesn't tend to move to block the balls, but he actually DID when he got his chance! And even stopped a couple of balls...no goals scored while he was tending it (we won't look at the fact that the other teams best player wasn't on the field at the time *laugh*)!

Church went pretty smoothly too. I checked in on Drew a few times during the AM service (the one he has problems with) and he was doing fine. I did notice that they have him in the 3 year old class though. Which I am sure he is happy with since his current best friend is in there, but I guess I need to ask about that this Sunday. Doesn't make since since I know he is in the 4-year-old class for Sunday School. *shrug*

Drew was REALLY excited that we got to dress-up for AWANA Sunday evening. They were having "Crazy Costume Night". Drew was Dr. Pepper and I was a ChipMunk - hahaha ;)

Monday I was a little concerned on how Drew would do. He seemed disagreable before I dropped him off for school. So when John called to let me know how his check-up went, I groaned when my cell phone rang and then chewed him out for making me think it was the school calling (since they are usually the only ones that call me in the morning on my cell). :) I was holding my breath the whole time just waiting for the call, but thankfully it never came. When Drew climbed in the van after school, he said that he had some problems. He said he hadn't wanted to stand up when the teacher told him to, but then he thought about it and decided to stand up so he did get a sticker for the day. According to the teacher's note, he had disagreed a couple of times, but when they warned him that they would have to call his mom he then did what he was suppose to. So, since it had only taken a warning to get him to cooperate, they went ahead and gave him his sticker for the day. Hey, it's some progress at least! *laugh* Not sure how long just those warnings will work, but they worked on Monday :)

Monday evening we...well I should say John...carved our pumpkins. Drew had been talking all day about helping to take out the insides of the pumpkins, but when it came down to it, he didn't want to touch it...finally did ONE time and then refused to do any more of it! *laugh* How did I end up with such a wimpy boy! Drew said he wanted a mad face and that Zach wanted a surprised face...so here is what we ended up with Today was our "free" day. I had originally thought I would take the boys down to the park since it was in the 70's today and might be our last chance before the cold weather rolls in. And maybe I could even get some pictures of the changing leaves (I just LOVE fall colors!). Well, Zach woke up with a little fever again & pretty cranky (I think he is working on getting some more teeth in - ugh :( ) and Drew was coughing and sounding a little he might be coming down with a cold so I thought we better not do that. So we just hung out at home today and wrapped the day up with making homemade Jack-o-lantern pizza :) And while the pizzas were cooking, we watched "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (I sure thought that was longer than it is...seemed longer as a kid).

So...now the big question is, can Drew make it through school tomorrow without them having to call me AND get his sticker???? I am sure praying so! And tomrorow evening is our church's Fall Festival which is always a lot of fun. The gym is filled with games (each one run by a different Sunday School class) and the kids get TONS of candy...plus they usually have a couple of blow-up things too. We will see if Drew lets me mess up his hair so it looks a little more like Diego's ;)

Not to leave Zach out - he has just been rather fussy so I haven't gotten many pictures of him lately. Here is what he is currently doing when he begins fussing Yes, he actually covers his mouth when he starts fussing or crying lately! Cuts down on the intensity of the sound a little :) I have no idea where he picked that up from!
