Too Many Firsts

How do you know when your child has had too many "firsts"? When you tell them that it is the first day of Autumn and they respond with "Wow! I've never been to Autumn before! Where is that?" *laugh* This is exactly how Drew responded to me. I then had to explain that Autumn wasn't a place or activity, but rather a season. I guess all of Drew's firsts lately have his mind focused that way (ie. first night of Joy Bells, first day of school, first day of swim lessons, first day of soccer, first soccer game, etc.).

I have to quickly share with you all about the WONDERFUL day Drew had at school today! *CHEER* *Thank you, God!* He was escorted to the van this afternoon by his principal, but not with bad news this time, rather to let me know what a wonderful job he did lining up immediately all by himself when told to at the end of after recess. *sigh of relief* Hopefully he will keep this up! Thanks to each of you that has been praying for him! PLEASE keep praying that he continues to do well.

Drew also had a very good day at church yesterday. All his teachers commented on how cooperative he was. He did come home with some injuries from AWANA though. Evidently he was running while they were outside playing and he fell on the concrete. OUCH! He scrapped up both knees and an elbow. They were just all shocked (as was I went I heard), that he never cried. He sure has been milking it for all it is worth at home though! *laugh*

Even his Saturday went fairly well (except for a 15 min fit in the afternoon). He really tried to listen at his soccer game and he had a blast! It is so fun to watch the little ones play soccer. We need to work on Drew's speed now :) Poor kid was way behind the group most the game. He didn't seem to mind though, so that's the good thing. I love how they are out there just to have fun & try and teach them a little about soccer, and don't keep score. I was very glad that his game was the first one for the day because it was already in the low 80's by the time it was over at 11am. Zach had a good Sunday as well. He made it through all 3 services in the nursery with very little crying. I think moving up to the 1 year-old room (now that he is walking pretty well) helped too since they have so many more things to play with in there.

Anyway, the boys are both up from resting now and I have a few things to finish before soccer practice this evening. Just had to share the great news though! :)
