I finally got around to going through the pictures I took of Zach on his actual birthday as well as ones from Drew's 1st swimming lesson.

All the rest of the pictures are ones I tried to take on Manual setting with no flash. *laugh* I still have a LOT to learn about all the settings. I also need to learn some good processing skills - you know to get the pictures to really pop and stand out (if anyone has any good suggestions....Carol? Debra?)

Zach LOVES cars!! With all the different toys he has to pick from, he always goes back to the cars. And yes, I was trying to get it to be focused on the car, and slightly out of focus on Zach :)

Do you have Photoshop or Photoshop elements? Go to Image, Adjustments, Levels (might be somewhere else in Elements) -- and move the left and right triangle sliders into the edges of the histogram curve. Then to add more punch, you can duplicate the background layer (control J), twice. Set the first layer copy to blending mode "Screen" , opacity about 50% or adjust it to whatever looks good when you're done. The second layer copy will be with blending mode "Soft Light", and the opacity adjusted also. Just adjust those layers until the photo looks good. Fun!
