New Couches!

The new couches are here and in their spots. Now for us to just be able to agree on pillows for them - lol. In person they are a deep chocolate color...in this picture they sort of have a gray tone. They are pretty comfy. I like the fact that there is actually lumbar support built in and when you recline it gives nice support to that area of your back. Which is nice for someone like me that often has lower back pains. Now to just see how they hold up with 2 boys ;) These couches don't take up as much floor space as our old ones, so now the rug looks even smaller in the room - lol.

I also visited the eye doctor this morning and am getting to try out the new Acuvue Advance Toric contacts. I have a astigmatism in both eyes, but the one in the right had gotten bad enough that we were going to have to start looking at non-disposable contacts to get me a clearer view. Well, Acuvue just recently came out with a disposable contact to correct astigmatisms! WOOOHOO!! It's amazing the difference. Only problem was the astigmatism in the left isn't bad enough to be able to correct (the toric contacts would end up over correcting the problem), so now it is my left eye that is a little blurry. That will take some getting use to :)

John went to see a chiropractor the other day for his first time. One of the gals he works with had told him that every since she went to this particular chiropractor, she hasn't had any more migraines. So since his have been so bad again he is willing to try anything. He went yesterday and they x-rayed him to see what was going on and then he went back this morning to meet with them and make a treatment plan. Ends up he has Stage 2 neck degeneration (not sure that is the technical term...just googled and it is Subluxation Degeneration). He neck is perfectly straight instead of having a slight curver to it like it should...and is very stiff. So he has to go for adjustments every day for 10 days and then goes to 3 days a week for several more weeks. Here's hoping this is what was causing the migraines! Here is a picture of a near normal neck and one at Stage 2 (this isn't pictures of John's neck, just ones I found on-line):

Zach Update:
He has taken a few, shuffle steps! He is doing better with his standing by himself too. In fact, he has, more than once, stood from the floor without hanging on to anything. It is so cute to watch how proud he is of himself when he stands up.

Drew Update:
Drew and I went Tuesday morning for his school orientation (to meet his teachers and see his classroom). Since they don't allow parents to walk their kids in on the first day (Friday, August 24th!), this was my chance to get some pictures for scrapbooking...

Drew and Mrs. Lisa

The night before, Drew was asking about his best friend Trey being at school, and I explained that Trey wouldn't be there and that he would be getting to make all new friends at school. He was NOT happy about this and said he didn't want to go. That didn't last long though and he was up bright and early Tuesday morning, got himself dressed and quickly ate breakfast. He was bubbling over with excitement. The thing that upset him that day was that we couldn't stay. *laugh*

This weekend brings a trip to JcPenney to have Drew's 4th birthday pictures taken on Saturday morning. And then tackling this house. LOTS to do before everyone comes next weeend!

Those sofas look SO comfortable! Wish I could climb on one and take a nap, haha! That's interesting about the migraines.. Hope it works for him.
