Home again, Home again!

Well, our power was restored sometime early this morning and we are back home. Our friends ended up being some of the few people in town that never lost their power.

Sunday, John and I ran back to our house and emptied our fridge. We took the freezer stuff and bagged most of it up and put it on the back deck. The fridge side we put out in our VERY cold garage. We did take some of the stuff over to our friends house too. After John called to see if our answering machine was working (meaning electric was back on) this morning, he ran back home to see how things were. All the freezer stuff on the back deck was still frozen solid...and the fridge stuff out in the garage was actually still at the same temp as it would have been in the fridge. Our deep freezer downstairs didn't even have any of the frost thawing in it yet. So we ended up loosing none of our food!

So here we sit back in our own warm home again...listen to the trees outside pop & crack like a gun going off. Weather.com says it is 13 degrees out there right now....brrr!! Suppose to be around zero tomorrow night. The big problem now is the wind has picked up....causing some trees that were just barely holding on to come down. One of our neighbor's trees is leaning WAY over our fence and looks like it could go at any minute. Sure hope it doesn't take our fence, shed or Drew's swingset with it!

Ok, time to try and go get some sleep between the tree pops. Especially since we might be having company tomorrow night. John is trying to talk one of the guys he works with into bringing his family here. They have a generator, but there house is just barel over 60.
