We Are Still Here :)

I have been seriously neglecting this blog lately! This is partly to the fact that it seems like all I do is share the troubles we are having...and as Mom always said "If you can't say something nice...." ;)

We are REALLY struggling with Drew still. And he was even asked this past Monday (after I had to pick him up 45 minutes after I dropped him off) to keep him home Wednesday (as in tomorrow). He is not just throwing screaming fits, but now is using more force and has been pushed other students. So of course they are concerned for the other students! We COMPLETELY understand!! We currently have a call into his pediatrician to get a referral to take him to have some testing done to see if there is anything we can be doing to help him. That's the short story :)

Zach still has a runny nose, but seems to be doing MUCH better! Our Parents-As-Teachers contact was by today and said she was amazed on his attention span. He still isn't talking much, but points and uses noises. Then if you ask him if he is wanting ____, and that is right, he starts giggling and nodding his head. So he is getting his point across. And you can ask him to go get certain things, and he understands the directions. He is SUCH a ham. If he does something that gets you to laugh, he just keeps doing it OVER and OVER again (like the spinning around and trying to get Drew to laugh when Drew had the flu). We are dealing with some big ol' temper tantrums, but I think that is partly to him not being able to fully communicate what he wants. And it is nice to have a child come out of the nursery at church all excited to see you (unlike what we always had with Drew - a screaming fit that he didn't want to leave, he wanted to stay and play). He is desperately trying to figure out how to open doors. He can reach the handles and knows you have to turn them, but just doesn't have quite enough strength yet. He also LOVES climbing on things. I found him in the bathroom the other day (after the door had been left open), not playing in the toilet, but standing up on Drew's stool at the sink grinning ear-to-ear looking so proud of himself. He tries to climb on the couch, but hasn't figured that out yet.

That pretty much sums up our little world lately :) I leave you with a picture from the other day. The two boys had been sitting in the entertainment center side-by-side (SO CUTE!), but of course be the time I grabbed the camera, Zach was moving. In the picture, Drew was trying to be helpful and hold Zach still which was NOT making Zach very happy.
