Did I Say "Normal"?

Not that I exactly know what "normal" is...but I could say what is "normal" for us. ANYWAY, I had plans on blogging today, but this evening Drew came down with the stomach flu. Of course this would be the evening that John had his annual shareholders meeting at work. Which means I had to not only comfort Drew and help him in any way I can (he likes Mommy there with him, although he pretty much handles it himself now), but then I also had to try and keep an eye on Zach. Not wanting Zach to be trying to play in the toliet in the middle of it all, this ment shutting the bathroom door and just taking peeks out when I could to make sure Zach was ok and not destroying the house. I tried to convince Drew that he could use a small pail instead, but he insisted on going to the bathroom every time. And here Drew was suppose to get to go back to school tomorrow. Guess that won't happen until Wednesday now (since there is no school Monday because of MLK day).

I guess that was a little TMI (too much information). Sorry about that. :) So in the midst of all this, Zach is trying to cheer Drew up and is being silly and spinning in circles giggling when he looses his balance and smacks his head on a wooden tiered race track toy and ends up with a little cut and a good size bruise. Zach is also sick himself with another cold. Has a yucky croupy cough, congestion and a VERY runny nose.

As I mentioned above, Drew was SUPPOSE to go back to school tomorrow. Ah this is a story all in itself! I dropped Drew off at school Monday, and although he wasn't in a perfect mood, he seemed ok. So Zach and I went from the school over to Target to pick up some things we were needing (I shop at Target like many shop at Wal-Mart...I perfer Target because it has smaller crowds). Anyway, Zach and I were taking our time in no big hurry. I was just finishing up and headed toward to the checkout when my cell phone rang. Groaning I answer it to hear wailing as the PreSchool assistant to the director was on the other end. So I ditch my cart (sorry about that Target workers!) and head over to pick him up. He had pushed another student AGAIN (had problems with that on the previous Wednesday and I had to go pick him up about a 1/2hr early) and then melted down when he wouldn't return a toy to the student he had taken it from so the teacher took it away from Drew to return it to the other boy. When I got to the school he was under the chairs in the office refusing to come out. So, I decided to keep him home on Wednesday and make him sit with me during his school time and work on paperwork instead of getting to be at school with his friends - no snack & no recess. And it just so worked out that Wednesday was an "Animal Encounters" day - where the zoo brings a couple of animals that they get to learn about. Something he REALLY enjoys and they only have it maybe every-other month. I also made him spend time on Tuesday morning sitting and practicing his writing since he missed out on class on Monday. I am a MEAN Mommy (as he tells me often lately), but he just HAS to learn!!

Ahhh....what FUN!! So I think I will head off to bed while it seems to have quieted down here...and while I can! I leave you with this picture taken last week of the two boys actually playing together nicely.

Cute picture! Isn't it wonderful when they are actually playing together and not fighting?! Target has cuter stuff -- I wish they had one closer to me.
