We have an ORANGE Kitchen!!

LOL - ok that is a little of an exaggeration :) 3 of the walls (not that there is much of those walls showing due to cabinets & doors) are a very nice buttery yellow - LOVE those walls! Anyway, we decided to try doing a faux finish on the wall (ragging to be exact) that is the bay window area where the table sits. The technique itself I think turned out pretty nice for it being our first time...I just do NOT like the color we put on over the yellow....it is ORANGE!! UGH!! I feel like I have stepped back into the 70's every time I look at it. I am currently trying to talk John into us buying a darker color to do the ragging technique with again over the orange to try and tone it down. He isn't going for it right now - he LIKES it!!! *cringe* Here, see it for yourself:

Other news on the remodeling front: We are hiring someone to come in and paint our living room/stairwell/hall since the ceiling is REALLY high and would be quiet a challenge for us. He is suppose to come Monday morning to get that done. Which means this weekend will be spent taking of the trim in those areas, as well as taking down window shades and covers off the outlets. Sometime this weekend will have to run and get the paint for the painter to use on Monday too. Our wood for our floors is suppose to be in later this week or next week I think. WOOHOO!!! So then it will just be getting with the guys that are going to come install it and our tile floors and working into their schedule. We still haven't picked out the tile for the 2 bathrooms or their paint color. We really need to get busy on that! Then we have to get the white paint for doing all the trim and get that completed. WOW! Should be another busy one for us.

Yesterday morning I went and registered Drew for Pre-School! No hopefully we can get him potty trained by June 1st or he won't be able to start this fall and we will loose our deposit. If all goes as planned, he will start a 3-day a week school in the 3-year-old class (even though he will be 4 by the time it starts, it goes by the child's age as of Aug 1st...which he isn't 4 until Aug 5th) this Fall. Which brings the subject of potty training. UGH!!! I feel like it is one step forward, 1- steps back! One day might go pretty well, and the next he won't use the potty at all. And we are back to the only time he will go is when I make him. No more of him stopping mid-play and running to the bathroom. The whole potty training thing also cause more problems at church. We have been putting him in a pull-up while he is out just to not have huge messes. Well, we were told a few weeks ago that he isn't allowed to wear a pull-up in the 3-year-old class! So it just means we put him in underwear and if he has an accident they get a mess to clean-up. We were trying to be nice to them! They said something about pull-ups being more of a problem when they take them potty....HUH??? Drew is actually better at getting his pull-ups up & down than regular underwear since the pull-up is a little looser.

Friday will bring Zach's 6 month check-up....hard to believe he is 6 months old tomorrow!!! I dread what the doctor is going to say about all the weight he has gained. *cringe* At least this marks us being able to start him on solid foods. The doctor wanted us to make sure and wait until 6 months to start because of possible allergies.

Next Wednesday morning will be Drew's 1st visit to the dentist. It is really my appointment (for a check-up & cleaning), but he is going along to meet the dentist and try to get him use to the process. Sure hope he is able to sit their that whole time....not like it will be easy for me to get up and chase after him while I am getting my teeth cleaned! I tried to get John to take Drew with him back in Dec., but he got out of it and I am the lucky winner :)
