I'm back

Not that I went anywhere...but somehow the past 2 weeks just flew past me!

Drew had a good time at the basketball game. He was VERY excited that "the good guys" won. John said he did really well as far as listening and sitting. He wouldn't cooperate with pictures though. *sigh* That age has come, when he runs or covers his face most the time I take out the camera. Every once-in-awhile he will still come up and say "Mommy, take my picture doing _____." It has to be HIS idea though, not mine. Anyway, John was only able to get a picture of Drew not really looking at the camera and his little friend grinning so big it looks like she is trying to show us the popcorn in her mouth. LOL

Last Tuesday Drew came down with a cold. Nothing terrible...just a REALLY runny nose and a little cough. He proceeded to share it with John by Friday and Zach by Saturday. I've had a little bit of a scratchy throat, but not to bad so far (which is AMAZING since both the boys have repeatedly coughed and sneezed right in my face ). Drew's is pretty much over now and Zach seems to be right at the peak with his, so hopefully we will be past all of it before too much longer. I am also hoping that my parents' don't come down with it after their visit this past weekend. They got to enjoy to cranky little boys - oh the fun.

We are starting to make some progress on the decisions for the remodeling. We packed the boys in the van and drove a 1/2 hr north to visit a hardwood producer. That was a pretty quick and easy choice. John and I both agreed which one we liked right off the bat. So they were able to give us a sample of it for us to go look at tile. The tile has been MUCH more difficult! I would personally like a lighter tile, but John wants a darker tile...so you can guess what we looked at - darker tile. We brought some samples home and ended up argeeing on the same one. I am just worried it is going to be REALLY dark in the kitchen with the tile. Ah well! We also got some samples for countertops. Again, John wants dark....I am thinking out kitchen is going to look like you stepped into a mud whole with all the medium-dark browns. LOL After the countertops, it will be off to pick paint colors...and then the tile for the bathrooms. UGH! If John gets the wood ordered this week, we should hopefully be able to start with all this by the beginning of March. Of course we will have all the painting to get done before that time though. And I am NOT looking forward to clearing out the rooms that are getting the new flooring! WOWZERS I have NO idea where we will go with everything! We will have the basement to move stuff into and I imagine we will have to more our vehicles out side and use the garage too.

Speaking of vehicles, John's car is broke AGAIN!!! Here I FINALLY got my van back and then last Wednesday he comes home and tell me the power stearing isn't working on his car! He was able to drive it home, but it wasn't a fun task - especially since that evening it was snowing. So I am back to being without a vehicle while he drives mine until he gets around to getting his in to be fixed.

The weather here has sure been up and down!! Earlier this week we were up to 67 degrees....now we are back to highs in the 30's....and suppose to get hit with storms starting late Saturday through Tuesday. They are unsure what form the percipitation will take. Could be rain, or freezing rain, or sleet ,or snow...but they are suppose to be pretty strong.

We are tackling the battle of getting Zach to sleep in his crib. We haven't started with the night time since he has had this cold, but I put him in there for his naps. He out grew the mini Arms Reach co-sleeper we were using for his naps, so we moved the crib into our room so when we start working on the night sleeping we hopefully won't keep Drew up. Plus since Zach still gets up a couple of times in the night to eat, I won't have to be going in and out of the boys room waking up Drew in the process. We figure we will get Zach use to his crib in the room he has been sleeping in and then when he is use to sleeping in the crib, move it back to the boys room. That way we are only changing one thing at a time. We also need to get Zach's carseat switched since he is now over the max weight for the infant carrier...a project for this weekend.

Not much else happening around here. Tomorrow night is scrapbooking night at chuch, so that should be fun. John will get to be with the boys for 6 hours by himself. LOL Oh to be a fly on the wall. I hear Zach has woken up so I better go get him before he wakes Drew up from his nap!

*****There are only 12 more days until my sister-in-laws due date!! I'm so excited to be an aunt for the first time!!! I will be anxiously awaiting the call with the news of my little nephew's arrival *pokes brother to remind him to call her*.
