Happy Tuesday

Hope everyone had a good Sunday & Monday and that their Tuesday if going well. How about this...blogging and it hasn't even been a week yet. It's not because I have a bunch of exciting news or anything. Just thought I would drop by to say "Hi" and update you on my Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

Poor Zach still has a horrible runny nose. It has run so much it has made his nose raw. Looks very painful :( I am trying out a sample of some saline gel that came with my last bottle of saline spray I bought to see if that helps moisturize it like it says it should. One upper tooth has broken through, but the other one is still not quite through yet.

Sunday I didn't end up working in the nursery. We decided instead of doing all the switch of cars and kids, that since John had to be there for the AM service to run the video controls that he would just go and do my nursery time during Sunday School. Sounds like he had a pretty easy day to be doing it :) He ended up in the infant room and they only had 2 babies.

Yesterday I tackled the stack of trim that we have down in the basement. Its the trim that John took down in the kitchen, living room, hall and the 2 bathrooms. So while Zach napped yesterday morning, I pulled all the nails out of the trim so they can be patched and repainted before we put them back up. The only trim I didn't do was from 2 closets and the laundry room - it is in the garage and I ran out of time to get to it. I told John that was his group to do - lol.

Last night John and I were walking around the backyard so he could tell me what to talk to the landscaper about today when he comes to quote the work and Drew was out running around kicking a ball. When he got to the big tree back there that use to hang all the way to the ground, he stopped and yelled, "Mommy, you did a GOOD job on the tree!" lol He said he liked being able to run under it again. The trimmed branches are still back on our patio....hoping John calls his friend with the pickup truck to see if he can swing by soon to haul them off.

This morning the boys and I braved Wal-Mart to do a little grocery shopping and pick up a few other items (nothing exciting...new hairbrush, John's B150 vitamins, potting soil). Thankfully they were once again pretty good. Seems like Tuesday has become our new grocery shopping day :) Drew also got to pick up a new backpack for school as well as pick out a pencil box and other school items. He seems to be getting pretty excited about going to school next month. Let's hope that will be an encouragement for him to be GOOD at school :)

This evening, the guy that put in our flooring is bringing a friend from work by our house to quote us on our landscape work that needs to be done. This guy is another one that does this as a side job, but Clay said he has done work for him before on houses. We have to get the drainage problem fixed in our backyard (the downspouts empty right next to the house and then the ground slopes toward the house...causing water to stand outside the basement - and one time a few years ago come in). Then we also need the play area for the kids finished up (a project John started over a year ago), fix the front flowerbed where they had to dig it up for our busted sewer pipe and then are thinking about replanting the front flowerbed as well as one in the corner of our backyard and maybe create a new one in the backyard too. So I will be anxious to see how much it is going to cost to see what all we can get down right now.

Nothing else planned for the week. Need to tackle cleaning out the office still and I think I am going to attempt to take Drew to the library on Saturday (last time I was very pregnant and ended up having to drag him out kicking and screaming becauese he didn't want to stop playing with the Thomas train set they have there). They have a summer reading program and when you read for so long you take in their form and get a coupon book to do things here in town (like a free pass to the zoo and the Discovery center...as well as other places). So we need to take Drew's form in and get the coupon book before the summer is over! I think most of the coupons expire at the end of August too. I also need to get by the Factory Card Outlet to get things for the boys' birthday party with the family. My partents, John's mom, John's sister Rebecca and her husband, Evan, and maybe John's dad and stepmom, are all coming on Aug. 18th for a little party. Nothing fancy, just lunch, cake & ice cream. But since I got a 20% my purchase at FCO I thought I would go there to get the table clothes, plates and napkins. Got that crazy discount the afternoon after I had gone to buy all the Thomas the Tank Engine party supplies for Drew's birthday party with his friends (taking him and a few of his friends to a local store where they get to make small stuffed animals...each kid gets to make one and take it with them). This will be Drew's 1st birthday party with friends...usually we just do a family one. Ok, I need to go finish a few things while both the boys are napping. I've talked your ears off for now anyway :)

Well, I'll have to try going to Walmart on Tuesdays -- maybe my boys will be good too! But I doubt it.
