Another Week Flies By!

Wow, I can't believe it is Friday already! Time just seems to be speeding right past me lately. I have popped in around here to change the look a little - hope you all like it :)

Nothing too exciting happening around here. Did store runs every day this week except Thursday - lol. Monday-SAMS, Tues-Grocery store, Wed-Target, Fri-Grocery run again for a couple things I forgot. We did get the tile bought for the backflash in the kitchen. It is ok...nothing wonderful, but it will work. We also went and looked at the Radio Flyer wagons at ToysRUs. John said he had to think about it for awhile ;) We also got the carpet in the doorways to the bedrooms and the top of the stairs tacked down. The carpet guy came by Thursday afternoon to do that for us. Now just so Drew doesn't stub his toe on the transition between the carpet & wood like he did on the tile (there are a couple spots on the tile in the kitchen that stick up a little and if you aren't careful can hurt...of course Drew found one of those spots and busted his toe open).

I just realized today that I haven't taken many pictures of the boys lately...especially Zach. Seems like I go in spurts of which of the boys I have more pictures of. For awhile it was Zach, but lately I have more of Drew. In fact, I have a couple of Drew still on my camera that I need to download showing off his cool color changing t-shirt my mom bought him at the butterfly house - it looks just like a line drawing inside...but when you step out in the sun, the butterflies turn red and yellow. Drew got a big kick out of it the other day...so of course we had to do before and after pictures ;)

I just can't believe that Drew will be starting preschool in a month! And for that matter that he will be 4 in just a little over 2 weeks! And we won't even talk about how quickly Zach is growing...just a little over 5 weeks til his is 1 year...and the child is outgrowing some of his 24 month clothes already. I have been trying to work more with Drew on writing his name and a few other things. Usually when I want him to practice he doesn't want to. Well, the other day he comes over and says "Look Mommy!" and here is what I saw...
He did that all by himself (he did have the help of looking at his name on the board, but still...not too bad for only working on it a couple of times). Then the next evening after dinner he said he wanted a piece of paper to draw on. So I gave him a piece of copy paper while cleaned up the kitchen. A few minutes later I looked at his paper and he was practicing writing his name - this time with nothing to look at and his "R" had gotten MUCH better. Now to see about getting him to write it with Upper and lower case instead of all upper case. :)

And not to leave Zach out of the pictures again....a picture from a few the beginning of July ... Zach trying Gerber meatsticks for the first time...
Zach is still working on that other top tooth. The one popped through, but his upper right one is still just not breaking through yet. Sure has been a long drawn out process for the little guy. He still isn't walking by himself...just cruises around holding on to things. If I force it, he can stand for a couple of seconds by himself, but he usually lowers himself to the ground pretty quickly. We have been trying to get him to practice by only holding onto one of our fingers and walking around....he can do it, but doesn't like to do it. lol He keeps trying to sit down and we have to keep picking him up and setting him back on his feet.

Ok, off to bed with me for tonight. I have to be up early tomorrow for a long drive...more to come on that next time :) And since I probably won't be on between now and then...I will say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to John!! His birthday is this coming Sunday.

Those pics are so cute! I tend to take my kids' photos in spurts also. I'm even worse about videos. I need to take more of those. Jacob will be 4 in about 4 weeks! And he'll be starting a new preschool this fall since our neighbor is moving.. I'm a little sad and worried about that.
