Good Luck, Doug!

I am sad to say I won't be able to go see my brother race his first race for the Legends series here in Missouri :( He will be racing only about 45min-1hr away from here, but it just didn't work out to go see him tonight. So I wish him luck in his races tonight. Be safe, "little" (I say that in quotes since although I am the eldest, he is 6'4" where I am 5'4") bro!! Hopefully we will be able to come see your race down this way in Septemeber! This is a picure from April 2006 of Doug & his car.

Hmmm....not much happening here. The guy that was suppose to come by this week to give us a quote on the landscaping never came by. That is the problem with trying to save money and have someone do it that does it as a side job...usually takes FOREVER for them to get around to it! Hopefully they will be able to come by next week and we can get the ball rolling on this. I am MORE than ready for all the home repairs/updates to be FINISHED!! I mean, come on! We have been at this since February and it STILL isn't finished. I'm beginning to go a little crazy here - oh wait, I was already there most would say ;) Now I am just praying we can at least get the inside of the house finished by the weekend of August 11th. That way I would have a week to get everything back to where it belongs before the family is all here for the boys birthday party on the 18th. Isn't looking very likely that that will be happening though. John & I did go to Lowe's the other night to look at tile for the backsplash in the kitchen. Found some that we think would work...not crazy over it...but its fine. We just got one piece of it so John could take it to the tile company that is next to his office to see if they carry it (or anything similar to it). Of course John is crazy busy at work since they have their user conference down in Dallas the 22nd-24th that they are trying to prepare for. So my gut tells me tile stuff isn't going to get done until after that (of course when he gets back it will be busy to get caught up on what he missed with being out of town...lol...never end :) but in a good way because at least it means their business if going/growing good).

Tomorrow morning, while John and Zach sleep in, I am planning to have Mommy & Drew time. We are going to go to IHOP for breakfast and then over to the library. It will be nice to just get out with him and spend some one-on-one time for him & I. Something that doesn't happened very often. Now here is hoping he doesn't throw the major fit this time when we have to leave the library! lol

Drew funny:
This morning, after having a few baked chips for a snack between breakfast & lunch (the kid seems to eat NON-STOP), Drew said he was SO full! I replied that that was a real shame since I was going to make hotdogs (one of his favorite things that he doesn't get all the time) for lunch, but I guessed he didn't have any room for them. He replied with a very serious face, "Oh no mommy, just the chips spot in my tummy is full...the hotdog spot is all empty!" WHAT a kid! lol

Your brother kind of looks like you, except for the 6'4" thing! (Wow, what a difference!)

Hope you get your home improvements done soon. I hate that unsettled feeling -- you have my sympathy.

Drew is too funny! I've used that same remark on my kids and never have they had such a witty comeback!
