It's Been Some Time!

I hardly know where to even begin...it has been such a long time since I sat down to write on here :)

First, update on our friend Paul. He was released from the hospital and able to go back to his home. Last I heard Tina has set up a sick ward in their bedroom for Paul, their 2 sons and one of their daughters but all were slowly improving. Thank the Lord for answered prayers!

Ok, on to my life lately...
I am recovering very well from my tonsillectomy. The pain is now downgraded to that of just a normal sore throat, with sometimes that sharp shot of pain. I only take a small amount of the codine before I eat some regular food. Ah, yes...normal food!! The leftovers of my mom's meatballs where the first "normal" foods I have been able to eat (before that it was just scrambled eggs, or Ensure, or bread, or a pancake)...I can't even describe how WONDERFUL they tasted!! Hopefully by this weekend I will be well enough to swallow some yummy steak I have been craving. It has been quite an experience. One I have of course documented with photos (don't worry, I won't gross you all out with them ;) ).

We now have new members of our family...no not puppies...but fish. My parents got Drew a tank with 2 goldfish while they were visiting. They seem to be doing pretty well, but it looks like their tank will need to be cleaned this weekend...FUN FUN FUN!

A couple days before my parents came down to stay with us, it was such gorgeous weather, the boys and I were able to go for a walk around our neighborhood. They had a lot of fun waving to the cars that drove by...and most people even waved back - which Drew was pretty excited about :)

The boys did all sorts of fun things while my parents were visiting. Drew and my dad spent lots of time playing with Legos They got to play games on my mom's laptop They played in their sandbox
Played with trains They went to the park And of course they visited the Easter Bunny (Zach even tried to push off the Easter Bunny's head and mom caught it on video *laugh*)...
dyed Easter Eggs... and hunted for eggs. They also got their haircut (no pictures from that though) :) Now if I could just get Drew back to not thinking he has to be entertained and going ALL the time - laugh! :)

But probably the biggest news, during the first few days of my recovery it rained, and rained and rained some more....which left us with a wet basement...a VERY wet basement! Which ment a few days after my surgery I was helping to move everything out of our basement bedroom and up into the garage so we could pull up the carpet, dry it out, have it cleaned and they are suppose to come relay the carpet this Saturday. WHAT an ordeal! Thankfully it wasn't worse than what it was (I LOT of people had it MUCH worse, so really can't complain). The little pump John bought helped move the water that was standing up against our house and leaking in back away from the house. So instead of starting on final closet renovation this weekend, we will be moving furniture back in its places in the basement. :) I also got the wild idea, that since we had everything moved out of the basement bedroom, we should go ahead and move all the office stuff down there so each of the boys could have their own room upstairs...which just means even more furniture moving :) We will move all the office stuff downstairs...move Drew into what is currently the office and then move Zach into Drew's current room. This way Drew will be able to have the bigger of the two beds (a queen instead of a full) and he will be able to pick out whatever theme he wants to decorate his new room in for his birthday instead of continuing to be just stuck with the jungle theme of his current room. He is pretty excited and thinks he has already decided his theme...cars...or maybe a sports theme...we'll see how many times that changes between now and August - laugh.

Ok, I will end this VERY long entry for now. We are suppose to have someone coming by to give us a quote of fixing out drainage problem in the backyard and I still need to figure out what to fix the guys for dinner. I will try to come back later with a YUMMY and VERY easy recipe to share (thank you Mr. Food).

Oh, my goodness!! Your basement flooded?! How awful to have to go through that when you're recuperating! Those pics are all so cute -- love the video! I wish I had thought of using a cookie sheet to dry the eggs! I'll have to remember that for next year. Looking forward to the yummy but easy recipe.. I'm all for easy...
