Wow! Another Week+ Flies By!

I just can't seem to get here more than once a week lately :) There has been a lot going on, but I never thought there was THAT much happening!

Drew round out school last week on a good note. He had good days both Wednesday and Friday! *CHEER* And even did well at church on Sunday. During the morning service the Joy Bells sang. I attempted to record it with my little Cybershot, but it was having a terrible time with focusing. I will share the recording, but warn you that it is pretty out of focus most the time and during one part I tried to move to get it to focus better (with no success). He is in the second row, second from the left in the solid red sweater vest with his shirt half untucked even though I had stopped by his class right before service started to tuck it back in! *sigh*

The other video I took of the Joy Bells singing turned out a lot better, but one of the little girls had her finger in her nose through most of it....and I didn't think her mom would appreciate it if she saw it :)

We woke Monday morning to ice covered trees and decks....but thankfully just wet streets. We were very fortunate to not end up with the inches of ice that they had north, west and east of us! There were many people in our area that were spooked that we would end up with another storm like we had back in January. Since Drew had a good day at school Monday, we did a couple of crafts after his nap. Jingle Bell Wreaths,a foam Ginerbread Man, as well as a hand & foot print angel for both the boys were on the agenda (samples of all in the "Crafts" Slide show to the left).

I had planned on a trip to visit Santa on Tuesday morning...but as most plans go, that didn't happen :) I woke to 2 VERY fussy little boys. Zach got up, had breakfast and went right back to bed...while Drew woke up, threw a fit about not wanting to eat breakfast, then about what I wanted him to wear and then about going to see Santa. When I said we just wouldn't go he threw another screaming/crying fit about NOT seeing Santa. So I took him to the bedroom to calm down. After screaming for about another 20min-half hr, he fell asleep and slept for almost 2 hours. When he got back up he was still pretty fussy and just stayed curled up in a blanket. I didn't think much about the being cold part since he had gone in and put on SHORTS and refused to change back into pants. After I FINALLY got him to tell me something he would eat, he only ate about half of what I gave him and broke down crying again. After much questioning he said that his throat hurt really bad and when I went to check it out with a flashlight I noticed that he also had a fever....along with some really red tonsils with a couple white marks on them. A quick call to the doctors office verified what I thought - couldn't be strep since he had been on Keflex for over a week...they said that most sore throats they had seen were viral. Joys!

Oh, and while both the boys were taking there morning naps I decided I just couldn't NOT have me Christmas tree up. I was planning on not putting it up this year because it would be a fight to keep Zach out of it. But I had the new, never used tree downstairs just sitting in the box since last year and it was driving me crazy not to use it. SO, I put it up :) I must say - I LOVE PRE-LIT TREES!!! Three piece pop together in nothing flat! Of course you still have to fluff it all out, but no fighting with strings of lights!!! WOOOHOOO!! I didn't put even a fourth of our ornaments on - not this late in the game. And most of them are breakable any way so I didn't want it too look over done on top and then the bottom - where the unbreakable ones were look bare. I am VERY happy with my new, full, PRE-LIT tree!!!

Since Drew was running a fever yesterday he had to stay home from school today. His throat is looking a little better and no fever at all today. So maybe we will get past this one fairly quick :) Today Drew worked on a foam Christmas tree craft that I picked up at Michael's He is REALLY into crafts right now and begs to do another one constantly! Just need to work on him FINISHING them! He tends to start one and then 15 min later wants me to finish it for him. I have been just putting them aside and within a couple of hours he comes back and wants to work on it some more. :)

Poor little Zach has busted his lip AGAIN! If this kid makes it through without breaking a baby tooth I will be shocked at this point. He fell over and smacked his face on the wood floor. He did this yesterday and his upper lip is still really swollen. We make sure he gets his daily yogurt in hopes that the mouth sore that has developed there will heal quickly. The little guy goes at everything 100mph! He thinks he should be able to do anything Drew can and doesn't seem to have any fears. It cracks me up when I find him sitting in a dark room playing (meaning one with only the nightlight on)! You would NEVER find Drew hanging out in a dark room. And my child that was doing SO well sleeping through the night is no more :) He has been spending about 4am til 5-5:30am every morning not wanting to sleep. Which means repeated trips back and forth from his room to give him his pacifier and lay him back down and tuck him in. This is repeated about every 10-15 minutes during the time. I am hoping it is just a phase that will soon pass. Thankfully he is at least back to going down to bed at night without a hug fit.

Tomorrow brings Drew's final swim lesson for this session. He then has a couple weeks break before starting the next 8-week session in January. I am hoping and praying we get the same teacher as he had this session. He has done SO well with her! I also need to get some house cleaning done and finish up the Christmas ornaments for Drew's class. Oh and if ANYONE has any easy Christmas craft for preschoolers (ages 3-4), PLEASE share!!! I have to come up with something for Drew's class Christmas party that is next Wednesday! Ok, time for me to head off to bed. Night all!

I was thinking about getting one of those pre-lit trees, but I wondered what happens when the lights burn out... do you have to buy a whole new tree?

We have a tree that if a bulb burns out all the rest stay lit. :) That was something that concerned me too. I think most of the trees are now made this way.
