After a very rough night, he had a lot of problems with coughing and wheezing, I deicided to call the doctor this morning. She had me take him in for chest x-rays. 2 hours after the boys and I got there, we were finally done (evidently they had a lot of trauma cases because of accidents due to very slick roads this morning...they said that early this morning all the overpasses in town were shut down except one or two because of major accidents...thankfully they were all fine by the time we went out at 10am). I finally heard back from the doctor's office with the results of the x-rays and it is pneumonia. He has a spot on the upper part of his right lung and they thought it looked like he might have a small spot on the lower part too. The doctor is going to have us try treating it at home - a much stronger antibiotic, lots of rest, proping up while sleeping, humidifier (which we need to go buy) and watching him closely. After the 10 days of the antibiotic I am suppose to update the doctor on how he is doing and she will probably want to see him again...we might also go in for another round of x-rays. Please keep our little guy in your prayers that this is all cleared up with this round of antibiotics and we can avoid a hospital stay. And thank you Lord for giving me the gut feeling that this was something more and not let it go on any longer...I only regret not following that feeling yesterday.

Oh Jen - i know i am a litlle late - but i sure hope your little man is on the mend :).
Don't kids sure know how to put you through the ringer? less his heart- you are all in my thoughts.
glad you were able to get that taken care of! my youngest had croup last week, and is still coughing. He had me scared for a while... wheezing and listless --- the doctor gave him xrays, didn't find anything, and then gave him a steroid drink. this seems to have been a bad winter for kids and sickness. Now of course it's my turn, and that's not fun either. Glad he's doing better...
